We are seeking a meticulous Production Planner to play a critical role in ensuring efficient production scheduling, precise material planning, and consistent on-time delivery.

About the Role

The Production Planner sits at the heart of our client’s manufacturing operations, acting as the vital link between sales demand and shop-floor execution. In this fast-paced environment, the Production Planner will utilise advanced scheduling techniques to minimise waste and maximise output.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive daily and weekly production schedules for the manufacturing plant.
  • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials to ensure uninterrupted rigid plastic production.
  • Coordinate with the procurement team to schedule timely material deliveries and prevent stockouts.
  • Analyse production capacity and machine availability to optimise workflow and reduce idle time.
  • Liaise seamlessly between the sales and operations departments to align production with client orders.
  • Track production progress against targets and proactively address any manufacturing bottlenecks.
  • Ensure all planning activities comply with the organisation’s strict quality and safety standards.
  • Generate detailed production reports and forecast models for senior management review.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline manufacturing processes.
  • Manage and resolve any discrepancies in production data within the ERP system.

Minimum Requirements

  • National Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or Industrial Engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as a production planner within a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
  • Specific experience in the plastics packaging or rigid plastics industry is highly advantageous.
  • Proficiency in using advanced ERP and production scheduling software (e.g., SAP, SYSPRO).
  • Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles and inventory management techniques.
