Job Description
The COO is responsible for overseeing the operational framework, strategic planning, and the management of resources to drive company-wide efficiency and profitable growth. This role ensures effective oversight of operations, risk management, and external partnerships, setting the standards for internal teams and projects
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning
- Leadership in Strategic Planning: Oversee the strategic planning processes, focusing on company-wide operational
efficiency. - Implementation of Business Plans: Guide and monitor the execution of strategic business plans across all operational units.
- Budget and Resource Oversight: Lead long-term budget planning and allocate resources across departments in line with the company’s growth objectives.
- High-Level Performance Metrics: Develop operational metrics and performance indicators that support company-wide
goals, while delegating project-specific metrics to the PMO. - Executive Collaboration: Work with the executive team to identify and address trends and shifts in the operational
model.
Operations Management
- Resource and Program Oversight: Ensure the allocation and availability of resources across operational units, establishing a framework within which the PMO operates.
- Project Compliance and Quality Standards: Set standards for compliance with legislative and contractual obligations,
ensuring quality across all company operations. - Enterprise-Wide Risk Mitigation: Develop a risk management framework that addresses risks across departments, ensuring smooth operational delivery.
- High-Level Quality and Safety Standards: Establish and monitor company-wide quality control and safety standards.
Procurement and Supplier Management
- Resource Oversight: Collaborate with the CFO on procurement processes, establishing SLAs and supplier agreements applicable across departments.
- Contract and Vendor Standards: Oversee supplier relationships at a strategic level, while delegating project-specific vendor oversight to the PMO Head.
Reporting and Documentation
- Operational Reporting: Deliver strategic performance reports to the CEO, encompassing company wide operations.
- Financial Reporting: Collaborate with the CFO to report operational financials.
- Company-Wide Metrics: Oversee the development of tools and systems for tracking overall operational performance, while project-level reporting is managed by the PMO Head.
Leadership and Team Development
- Operational Reporting: Deliver strategic performance reports to the CEO, encompassing company-wide operations.
- Financial Reporting: Collaborate with the CFO to report operational financials.

External Relations
- Strategic Partnerships: Manage high-level relationships with external stakeholders, suppliers, and government entities, ensuring strategic alignment
Applicable Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (BSc or B-Tech) in the built environment or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years experience, with 5 years in a senior role in a medium to large organization.
- Professional registration will be a great advantage.
- Skills and Knowledge: Advanced business planning and regulatory compliance.
- Proven leadership in operational and financial performance.
