About the Role

As a SOC Analyst you will be the eyes and ears of the organisation’s security operations. You’ll monitor alerts, triage and investigate incidents, and work closely with senior engineers to contain and remediate threats. It’s a hands-on, fast-paced role that will sharpen your detection and response skills and open clear pathways into senior security engineering.

What You’ll Do

• Monitor security alerts across SIEM, EDR and network tooling and triage them by priority.
• Investigate and analyse security incidents, phishing, malware and suspicious activity.
• Escalate and document incidents, and support containment and remediation efforts.
• Perform threat hunting and help tune detection rules to reduce false positives.
• Maintain security documentation, runbooks and incident reports.
• Support compliance with ISO 27001, NIST and POPIA requirements.

What You’ll Bring

• 1–4 years’ experience in a SOC, cyber security or IT security role (strong graduates with certifications will be considered).
• A solid understanding of networking, operating systems and common attack techniques.
• Familiarity with SIEM/EDR platforms and the incident-response lifecycle.
• Certifications are highly advantageous — CompTIA Security+, CySA+, CEH or Microsoft/AWS security fundamentals.
• A qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Sharp analytical skills, attention to detail and a genuine curiosity about how attackers operate.
