About the Role

Hire Group is partnering with a high-growth US-based accounting firm to hire an experienced Accounting Services Manager to lead and scale their South Africa delivery team. This is a senior leadership role for a results-driven accounting professional who thrives in a client-facing, high-performance environment.

You will own the quality, efficiency, and output of a dedicated accounting team, working hand-in-hand with US client leadership to drive excellence across every engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing accounting delivery team, taking full ownership of team output, quality standards, and turnaround targets
• Serve as the primary liaison between the South Africa team and US client leadership, ensuring seamless communication and alignment
• Oversee the full accounts payable/receivable cycle, including bill payment systems and multi-client bookkeeping across QuickBooks
• Design, implement, and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to drive process efficiency and scalability
• Manage multiple concurrent client engagements, ensuring delivery accuracy, compliance, and client satisfaction
• Apply US GAAP principles across all financial reporting, reconciliations, and client deliverables
• Recruit, onboard, and retain accounting talent to support a growing practice
• Produce management-level reporting on team capacity, productivity metrics, and process improvements

Minimum Requirements

• Professional qualification: SAIPA, CIMA, or CA(SA)
• Minimum 2 years of team leadership or management experience in an accounting environment
• Strong, demonstrable knowledge of US GAAP
• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks (Online or Desktop)
• Proven experience managing bill payment workflows and multiple simultaneous client accounts
• Track record of designing and implementing SOPs that measurably improved process efficiency and team capacity
